High Definition (HD) channels are becoming more and more popular, due to the clarity and sharpness of the pictures they provide. Ideally, you must have a HD TV, preferably with a High Definition Multimedia Input (HDMI) , which is the standard HD connection.

What is Sky+ HD?
As we're sure you know, HD stands for High Definition. High Definition TV pictures are lot sharper and clearer than standard TV pictures - with four time more detail than standard TV broadcasts.

Sky Digital is currently offering more high definition TV channels than any other UK broadcaster - including rivals Virgin Media. Sky's HD service launched in May 2006.

Sky's High Definition service supports two HD formats, 1080i and 720p , via a standard HDMI socket.

Those on a north beam you will have difficulties in receiving on a small dish, and even on a big dish may not be available when the north beam signals are at their weakest - mid to late afternoon.
