Spain’s Canal+ will broadcast the MTV channel from 7 February.
MTV Spain will leaves the TDT free-to-air network, as announced two months ago.
TDT is the Spanish equivalent of the UK Freeview service, offering a number of digital TV channels via a TV aerial.
Many of Spain’s TDT channels are facing a restructuring process which could close up to nine channels..
MTV will be broadcast through Canal+’s DTH (direct-to-home) satellite network.
It is unknown what channel will replace MTV on TDT. Initially it will be replaced by a shopping channel, but some rumours suggest that the slot could be used for the football team Real Madrid to broadcast its own TV channel, Real Madrid TV
