Talking Pictures TV : Lost reception on satellite?
Talking Pictures TV has changed satellite frequencies.
After several phone calls from people who have lost reception of Talking Pictures TV channel on satellite I thought this information may be useful.
Talking Pictures TV channel has changed frequencies on the UK TV Astra 2 satellites.
For fans of classic cinema and British television, Talking Pictures TV has become something of a cultural favourite. The UK-based free-to-air channel specialises in broadcasting a rotating schedule of vintage films, forgotten TV series and nostalgic programming from decades past — from black-and-white classics to beloved programmes from the 60s, 70s and 80s. It’s a go-to destination for anyone who enjoys film history or simply appreciates television from a golden era that rarely gets screen time elsewhere.
However, many viewers recently noticed an unexpected issue: Talking Pictures TV lost satellite reception on platforms such as Freesat and Sky. For those relying on satellite dishes and set-top boxes, the channel simply disappeared from the usual line-ups, leaving fans wondering why and when it might return.
If using a Sky or Freesat receiver, then these will have automatically updated to the new frequency for Talking Pictures TV channel.
(Talking Pictures TV is on Freesat Channel 306, Talking Pictures TV is on Sky Channel 328)
If you are using any other type of satellite receiver, like a free to air receiver, or a tv with built in satellite receiver, then if you want to continue to watch Talking Pictures TV channel, then you will have to perform a channel scan to locate Talking Pictures TV channel on its new frequency.

What Is Talking Pictures TV?
Launched in 2015, Talking Pictures TV fills a niche in the UK broadcast market. Unlike mainstream commercial channels that focus on contemporary shows and blockbuster movies, Talking Pictures TV curates a rich library of films and series — most of which are decades old. Organised thematically, viewers can enjoy classic thrillers, period dramas, horror films of yesteryear, and vintage television moments all day long. It’s especially popular among older audiences and those with an interest in Britain’s broadcast history.
The station gained attention for its commitment to uncut presentations, regular voice-overs from knowledgeable hosts, and a programming ethos that celebrates cinema and television art from bygone decades. Over time, it built a strong fan base across the UK and beyond, especially among expatriates who receive the channel via satellite.

the new transponder used for tptv is focused on the uk with minimal coverage of spain, i think northern spain ok but in andalucia there is no longer reception of tptv, that’s tv, etc.
TPTV is on the same UK beam as BBC ITV C4 Fives, UKTV, Discoverysd, and TNTSports.
So reception will be as per those channels. So if you get those channels you will get TPTV etc
Where I am (Valencia / Costa Blanca) all OK on a 125x135cm dish.
The further south you go the larger the required dish.
The further north towards Barcelona, the larger the required dish.
