The 16th edition of the Triatló Ciutat de Gandia took place today, Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Gandia Beach, reaffirming its reputation as a premier event for triathletes. Organized by Club Triatló Gandia, the competition marked the official start of the triathlon season at both regional and national levels.

This year’s event was also the fifth edition of the Lliga de Clubs Caixa Popular of the Valencian Community, attracting top athletes from across the region.

Participants competed in the sprint triathlon discipline, which included a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer cycling segment, and a 5-kilometer run.

More than 400 athletes took part in the competition, with 280 participating in the first day of triathlon in the Valencian Community within the First Division and Promotion categories. Teams, consisting of up to 10 members, accumulated points for their clubs based on their performances.

Club Triatló Gandia’s men’s team, which secured the Second Division championship last season, entered this year’s competition with high expectations. Similarly, the women’s team competed for the third consecutive season at the highest regional level of triathlon.

In the men’s competition, Club Triatló Huracán Valencia claimed first place, showcasing their dominance in the event. CDM-ECL Avant Moncada and CT Albacete Ingeteam rounded out the podium in second and third place, respectively.

On the women’s side, CDM-ECL Avant Moncada emerged victorious, followed by Club Triatló Huracán Valencia in second place, and CT A Correcuita securing third.

Beyond the club competition, the event also included an open race and an Autonomous University Championship, drawing an increasing number of triathletes with diverse levels of experience. The occasion was marked by a vibrant atmosphere and seamless organization, further solidifying Gandia’s reputation as the autonomous federated capital of triathlon.

La 16.ª edición del Triatló Ciutat de Gandia se celebró hoy, domingo 30 de marzo de 2025, en la Playa de Gandia, reafirmando su prestigio como evento de primer nivel para triatletas. Organizada por el Club Triatló Gandia, la competición marcó el inicio oficial de la temporada de triatlón a nivel regional y nacional.

Este año, la competición también representó la quinta edición de la Lliga de Clubs Caixa Popular de la Comunidad Valenciana, atrayendo a los mejores atletas de toda la región.

Los participantes compitieron en la modalidad de triatlón sprint, que incluyó 750 metros de natación, 20 kilómetros de ciclismo y 5 kilómetros de carrera a pie.

Más de 400 atletas participaron en la competición, de los cuales 280 participaron en la primera jornada de triatlón en la Comunidad Valenciana en las categorías de Primera División y Ascenso. Los equipos, compuestos por hasta 10 miembros, acumularon puntos para sus clubes en función de sus actuaciones.

El equipo masculino del Club Triatló Gandia, campeón de Segunda División la temporada pasada, llegó a la competición de este año con grandes expectativas. Del mismo modo, el equipo femenino compitió por tercera temporada consecutiva en la máxima categoría autonómica del triatlón.

En la competición masculina, el Club Triatló Huracán Valencia se alzó con el primer puesto, demostrando su dominio en la prueba. El CDM-ECL Avant Moncada y el CT Albacete Ingeteam completaron el podio en segundo y tercer lugar, respectivamente.

En la categoría femenina, el CDM-ECL Avant Moncada se alzó con la victoria, seguido del Club Triatló Huracán Valencia en segundo lugar y el CT A Correcuita en tercer lugar.

Además de la competición de clubes, el evento también incluyó una carrera abierta y un Campeonato Autonómico Universitario, que atrajo a un número cada vez mayor de triatletas con diversos niveles de experiencia. El evento se caracterizó por un ambiente vibrante y una organización impecable, consolidando aún más la reputación de Gandia como capital autonómica federada del triatlón.
