The IX Gran Fondo Alé Cycling Gandia took place on April 5, 2025, drawing cyclists of all ages and skill levels to the stunning landscapes of La Safor, El Comtat, La Vall d’Albaida, and La Costera in the provinces of Valencia and Alicante. Organized by Club Ciclista Escapada, this international cycling event—featured on the UCI calendar—offered riders a challenging yet scenic route through some of the region’s most picturesque terrain.

The race began promptly at 8:00 a.m. along the beachfront promenade of Playa de Gandia, where hundreds of cyclists set off under the rising sun. From there, the route wound its way inland through a series of notable climbs:

– Puerto de la Llacuna: A tough ascent known for its steep gradients and sweeping views.
– Beniarrés Pass: A timed section where cyclists could test their climbing abilities.
– Benigànim Pass: A gentler climb that offered a welcome break from the intensity.
– Alto de Pla de Corrals: The final major ascent before the long descent back toward the coast.

After the final descent, riders completed their journey back where it all began—on Playa de Gandia—finishing the loop with the Mediterranean Sea as their backdrop. The course made use of mostly low-traffic roads, prioritizing safety and enjoyment throughout.

The event wasn’t just about the ride: participants and spectators enjoyed a festive post-race celebration by the sea, complete with food, drinks, and raffles featuring prizes like gourmet hams and high-end cycling gear. Each rider also received a commemorative maillot as a keepsake of their accomplishment on the sun-drenched roads of Gandia.

La IX Gran Fondo Alé Cycling Gandia se celebró el 5 de abril de 2025, atrayendo a ciclistas de todas las edades y niveles a los impresionantes paisajes de La Safor, El Comtat, La Vall d’Albaida y La Costera, en las provincias de Valencia y Alicante. Organizada por el Club Ciclista Escapada, esta prueba ciclista internacional, incluida en el calendario UCI, ofreció a los ciclistas una ruta desafiante y a la vez pintoresca a través de algunos de los paisajes más pintorescos de la región.

La carrera comenzó puntualmente a las 8:00 h en el paseo marítimo de la Playa de Gandia, donde cientos de ciclistas partieron bajo el sol naciente. Desde allí, la ruta serpenteaba hacia el interior a través de una serie de importantes subidas:

Puerto de la Llacuna: Una ascensión exigente, conocida por sus pronunciadas pendientes y vistas panorámicas.

Puerto de Beniarrés: Un tramo cronometrado donde los ciclistas pudieron poner a prueba sus habilidades de escalada.

Puerto de Benigànim: Una subida más suave que ofreció un merecido descanso de la intensidad.

Alto de Pla de Corrals: La última gran subida antes del largo descenso de vuelta a la costa.

Tras el último descenso, los ciclistas completaron su viaje de vuelta al punto de partida, en la Playa de Gandía, terminando el circuito con el mar Mediterráneo como telón de fondo. El recorrido discurrió principalmente por carreteras con poco tráfico, priorizando la seguridad y la diversión en todo momento.

El evento no se limitó a la carrera: participantes y espectadores disfrutaron de una alegre celebración posterior a la carrera junto al mar, con comida, bebida y sorteos con premios como jamones gourmet y equipamiento ciclista de alta gama. Cada ciclista también recibió un maillot conmemorativo como recuerdo de su logro en las soleadas carreteras de Gandía.
