ITV and Channel 4 Four on a small dish for Costa Blanca Spain
Normally on the Costa Blanca Valencia area of Spain, you will need a 1.8m or 2.4m satellite dish to be installed in order to get ITV and Channel 4 reception. This is because these are free to air channels, and are available without any Sky viewing card. The big dish is required as these are on the weaker Astra 2D satellite.
However, if you have a Sky viewing card, either a Freesatfromsky or subscription card, then you can access some alternative frequencies for ITV and Channel4.
These alternate frequencies are located on another satellite which has a much stronger signal than Astra 2d. Due to this much stronger signal, these channels are encrypted and do require a sky viewing card to access them.
In some areas of Spain you may even get these signals on a small satellite dish, even on an 80cm dish!
Some installers will charge you for "realigning" your dish and programming your digibox to get these channels and claiming your dish is now aligned correctly again, yet all he has done it to programme these frequencies into your receiver! He may charge for this, we show you how to get ITV and Channel 4 on a small dish (with a Sky card) for free!

Input the frequencies
For ITV1
12402 V 27500 2/3
11053 H 22000 5/6
In November 2011, the ITV channels on 11973 will no longer be available.
They will be available on frequency 11053 h 22 2/3
You will need to add these to your "services other channels" list should you want to continue to view them)
For Channel 4
12.480 V 27.5 2/3
Also on the Channel 4 12480 frequency, there are also E4 and More 4, but these require a Sky subscription card, where as the ITV1 and Channel 4 require a "freesat from sky" / "free to view " card
Navigate to Find Channels
Press Select
Press Yellow (a tick will appear against the selected channels)
Press Select
To access these stronger channels
Press Services
Navigate to Other Channels (the menu number will vary depending on software versions and receiver models)
Highlight the channel you want and press select.
With a High Definition (HD) receiver and a Sky viewing card,you can also receive Channel 4 HD on a smaller dish.
