Motorised Dish Systems
A motorised dish opens up a whole new world of TV channels that are available on the many satellites.
With a 80cm dish on a motor you can receive channels from the following satellites:
Eurobird 1, Astra 2aS, Astra 2bS, Astra 2c : the UK TV satellite channels
Arabsat : MBC1 MBC2, MBC3, MBC4, MBC Action, Fox Movies, Fox Series, Dubai One (All Free To Air with no card)
Astra 1: mainly European channels, with Sky News, BBC World, German Eurosport
Hotbird: Where BBC Prime currently sits
Eurobird 9 : Where BBC Prime will site by April 2009
Nilesat : same FTA channels as Arabsat - I recommend that people with a motorised dish do not use the Nilesat satellites but use Arabsat instead - they have the same FTA channels, and you do not have to wait for a long time for the dish to move from 28 east (UK satellites) to 7 West (Nilesat) as the dish has to slightly move from the UK satellites (28 east) to Arabsat (26 east!)

A motorised dish system mean that you will only have one dish one the side of the house.
Correctly aligned you will have no problems receiving channels on all the satellites mentioned above.
You will, however, experience a slight delay when the dish has to move between satellites locations, which is not an issue with a multi dish system.
With the changed being made by BBC Prime I recommend that a motorised dish system will be the solution to getting all the channels that you are used to. There is not BBC World News or Sky news on the new BBC Prime satellite. So rather than having another satellite dish installed a motor will be of great help to you.
In most cases we can use your existing dish with a motor, so you may not have to buy another dish....just the motor and installation costs!
