ITV HD region changes soon…?
According to reports ITVHD will soon be operating a regionalaised vesion of its ITV HD.
Various reports have seen that on the SKy EPG the ITV regional news options have been reallocated new regional variations for this coming Thursday.
(UPDATE: This has not been changed to this coming Sunday!)
Reports suggest that there will be a London, North, Central and South East ITVHD regional variations.
This will be in addition to the STV (Scottish TV) HD variattion expected to be laucnged aroudn the 11th June.
STV HD will be on Astra 2d, where it is currently testing, whose reception will be similar to BBC1.
It is unknown what frequency the other ITV HD regions will be on or their reception – as yet there are no signs of these being tested.
Currently we have:
ITV1HD on 10832 H – free to air – no sky card required – a Astra 2d horizontal frequency- reception similar to BBC2
ITV1HD (STVHD) on 10936 V – currently testing and free to air – a Astra 2d vertical frequency- reception similar to BBC1
ITV1HD on 11973V – a strong Astra 2B South frequency – sky card requried – reception similar to Sky News!!
But things can change!
At the moment this is the current state of ITV1 HD testing and availability:
ITV1 London HD Astra 2D/10832 H – free-to-air – no sky card required – similar reception to BBC2
ITV1 Granada HD Astra 2D/10936 V – free-to-air – no sky card required – similar reception to BBC1
ITV1 STV HD Astra 2D – /10936 V – free-to-air – no sky card required – similar reception to BBC1
ITV1 Central West HD Astra 2D/10936 V – free-to-view – sky card required – similar reception to BBC1
ITV1 Meridian South HD Astra 2B/11973 V – free-to-view – sky card required – similar reception to Sky News
And the “Freesat Red Button” HD stream is also available.
