ZDF, ARD, RTL and France 2 and France 3 to go encrypted
After announcing that the ZDF, ARD and RTL channels are to be encrypted changed or simply disappearfrom the Hot Bird satellite, now it’s the turn of the channels France 2 and France 3 broadcasting from position 5 degrees West.
Television rights are not allowed to broadcast in the open position, so both channels from June 11 until July 11 will be Viaccess encrypted. This is expected to be for the duration of the World Cup.
These two channels will remain a “dark” for a month.
To the subscribers to Bis TV and Fransat from the Atlantic Bird 3 satellite, there will be problems and may continue to watch these two channels with their respective conditional access cards.

The encryption is known as BISS soft.
Both channels broadcast on the frequency 11 590 MHz Vertical polarity at the orbital position 5 degrees West.
It has been previously announced that they would encode, along with some other FTA channels on Hot Bird 13 � East, althugh this is only temporarily for the same grounds.
These are channels that are broadcasting the World Cup matches and their signals are reaching North Africa.
However, at the moment, ADR, ZDF and RTL on Astra 19.2 � are giving the World Cup in open and even in HD
