2022 Winter Olympics Beijing TV Coverage
The 2022 Winter Olympics officially known as XXIV Olympic Winter Games, and commonly known as Beijing 2022 , will take place in Beijing , China, from 4th to 20 February 2022.
This event marked the first time the Winter Games were hosted in China. The Games featured 109 events across 15 sports, including skiing, snowboarding, and ice hockey. Norway led the medal tally with 16 golds, while the United States and Germany also performed strongly. Highlights included incredible performances by athletes like Nathan Chen in figure skating and Eileen Gu in freestyle skiing. The Beijing Games were notable for their use of advanced technology and efforts to ensure a safe environment amidst ongoing global challenges.
2022 Winter Olympics TV Coverage
The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing will be televised by a number of broadcasters throughout the world. As with previous years, Olympic Broadcasting Services will produce the world feed provided to local broadcasters for use in their coverage. In most regions, broadcast rights to the 2020 Summer Olympics were packaged together with those for the 2022 Winter Olympics, but some broadcasters obtained rights to further games as well.
2022 Winter Olympics UK TV Coverage
In the United Kingdom, these are the first Winter Games where Eurosport are the main rightsholder; the BBC will sub-license a limited amount of coverage on free-to-air television, as part of a deal in which the BBC sold the pay-TV rights to the 2018 and 2020 Games to Eurosport.
Eurosport will carry the majority of the coverage, on their Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 channels. Some “pop up” channels will also be made available on Sky satellite systems for additional coverage. Further coverage will be available via the Eurosport Player app.
