The Floral Offering to Our Lady of the Abandoned in Gandia is the most symbolic and emotive act during the Fallas festival. On March 18th, it brings falleros, falleras, and citizens together in a touching act of worship for the patroness of Valencia.

The members, dressed in their beautiful traditional Valencian attire, stroll through the streets of Gandia in a lively procession, holding a beautifully arranged bouquet of flowers. The flowers are arranged in such a manner as to create a beautiful floral cloak for Our Lady of the Forsaken to be presented with in the Colegiata de Santa María, and each of the bouquets adds to the beautiful pattern, symbolizing togetherness and dedication.

This is not a strictly religious ceremony—it’s an old custom that bears testament to the culture, religion, and pride of the Gandians. The atmosphere is electric with emotion, with some of the participants even weeping while presenting their flowers, all amidst the sound of traditional music.

The most moving and evocative part of Fallas to all is the Offering of Flowers, which preserves the religious significance of the celebrations and brings together the whole community in a marvelous display of devotion and affection for their patroness.

La Ofrenda Floral a Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados en Gandía es el acto más simbólico y emotivo de las Fallas. El 18 de marzo, reúne a falleros, falleras y ciudadanos en un emotivo acto de veneración a la patrona de Valencia.

Los falleros, ataviados con sus hermosos trajes tradicionales valencianos, recorren las calles de Gandía en una animada procesión, portando un ramo de flores bellamente arreglado. Las flores están dispuestas de tal manera que forman un hermoso manto floral para que Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados sea ofrecida en la Colegiata de Santa María, y cada uno de los ramos contribuye al hermoso diseño, simbolizando unión y dedicación.

Esta no es una ceremonia estrictamente religiosa; es una antigua costumbre que da testimonio de la cultura, la religión y el orgullo de los gandianos. El ambiente está cargado de emoción, y algunos participantes incluso lloran mientras ofrecen sus flores, todo ello al son de la música tradicional.
