From the 2015–16 season, in a three-year deal, Channel 5 won the rights to broadcast highlights for The Football League and the Capital One Cup, taking the coverage away from the BBC after six seasons.
Channel 5, which will air a weekly 90-minute show at 9pm starting next season, takes over from the BBC which had aired highlights after Match of the Day, usually starting just before midnight and ending after 1am.
