The French Open, often referred to as Roland Garros, is a major tennis tournament held over two weeks between late May and early June.
The French Open is held in Paris, France, at the Stade Roland Garros.
It is the premier clay court tennis tournament in the world.
Roland Garros is the only Grand Slam held on clay and ends the spring clay court season.

The 2014 French Open

The 2014 French Open, the 113th edition of the French Open, took place at the Stade Roland Garros from 25 May to 8 June 2014.

Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in the men’s singles final to win his 9th French Open title and his 14th Grand Slam title.

Maria Sharapova won the women’s singles, defeating Simona Halep to win her second French Open title and her 5th Grand Slam title.

UK TV coverage for the 2014 French Open will be available on ITV1, ITV3 and ITV4. ITV will bring viewers exclusive live coverage of the 2014 French Open tennis at Roland Garros from Sunday May 25.

Due to ITV4′s coverage of the final week of the Indian Premier League cricket tournament, the first five days of the French Open will be shared across ITV4 and ITV3, with the rest of the tournament on ITV4, while the mens’ and women’s singles finals will be broadcast live on ITV.

Host John Inverdale is joined by US tennis legend Jim Courier and a wealth of on-screen talent to bring the tournament to ITV from Paris. Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli will join ITV Sport’s commentary team for its live free-to-air coverage of French Open at Roland Garros. ITV French Open team also includes Jim Courier, Mark Petchey, and Sam Smith

It is the second time ITV has screened this key Grand Slam tournament – with more than 150 hours of tennis from Roland Garros to be shown during the 15 days of play. Key matches including the mens’ and ladies’ singles finals will be shown on ITV with daily extended live coverage on ITV4. This year, the main ITV channel will also show daily highlights packages of up to 90 minutes each evening.

ITV has constructed a special studio in the heart of Roland Garros where the team will be based for the tournament.

ITV have the UK broadcast rights for the French Open until the 2018 tournament.
