More on the Cyprus cardsharing networks closing.
The European Association for the Protection of Encrypted Works and Services (AEPOC) has announced the seizure of six more card sharers and arrest of six new suspects offering illegal subscriptions for BFBS, BSkyB and Nova in Cyprus.
This follows the arrest of a Cypriot man last month, in an operation supported by AEPOC members including Irdeto, for providing illegal pay-TV subscriptions to around 1,400 clients in Europe.
The clampdown on piracy in Cyprus has been a relatively swift operation, having started only six months ago.
There has also been a much longer action in Germany, culminating in a two-year trial, and the stopping of a smaller card sharing activity in the UK.
