10 La Liga matches for free on ITV
Ten La Liga games will be broadcast on free to air TV in the UK on either ITV, on ITV1 or ITV4, and ITV X (Hub).
ITV has sublicensed 10 La LIga matches from the primary UK broadcast rights holder Premier Sports and La Liga TV in a three year deal running until the end of the 2024-25 season.
The first La Liga match to be shown on ITV will be Real Sociedad v FC Barcelona on Sunday 21st August 2022. Coverage will begin on ITV4 at 8:30pm, with kick-off at 9:00pm.
Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said:
“This deal ensures free to air coverage for all football fans of one of the most entertaining leagues in the world. The deal with Premier Sports will give fans the chance to see some of the most iconic clubs and world-class players in action, live on ITV.”
Primary UK broadcast rights holder Premier Sports and La Liga TV will show every available live game. In July, Viaplay announced it was buying Premier Sports ahead of launching its streaming service in the UK this autumn.
You can catch the entire La Liga action on UK TV via the official LaLigaTV channel, which is available to watch via Premier Sports Player and Amazon Prime Video. Both platforms offer a 30-day free trial to the new members.
Select games will also be broadcast live on Premier Sports 1 and ITV 4 channels.
In 2024, La Liga’s UK coverage features ITV as a key broadcaster, offering 10 live matches for free. This move provides fans with access to significant fixtures involving top Spanish teams like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, without the need for a subscription. ITV’s broadcasts will include pre-match insights, live commentary, and post-match analysis, ensuring an engaging viewing experience. With Sky Sports and BT Sport not airing La Liga this season, ITV’s free-to-air coverage fills a crucial gap, bringing exciting Spanish football action to a wide audience and maintaining interest in one of Europe’s premier football leagues.
