Channel 4 streaming app returns to Freesat
After a five year absence from Freesat the Channel 4 streaming app, formally known as All4, has today made its return to the free to air satellite TV service.
The relaunch onto Freesat took place earlier today (29th September 2023), bringing an additional 16,000 hours of on-demand content to Freesat’s 4K TV Boxes.
All4, along with Channel 4 HD left Freesat back in 2018, due to a dispute in fees between Channel 4 and Freesat.
But since 2021, when Channel 4 became a part-owner in Everyone TV, the company that manages the satellite TV platform, there was always speculation that the streaming service would return.
First indications where when Channel 4 HD returned to Freesat.
And today the Channel 4 app returned to Freesat.
However, like ITVX, the Channel 4 streaming app is only available on the “4k” Freesat boxes.

Emily Doyle, Content Partnership Manager at Freesat, expressed her enthusiasm about the relaunch, stating, “We are constantly striving to bring our customers the very best content and being able to relaunch the Channel 4 app is a significant milestone in that mission.”
