FA Cup 4th Round UK TV Fixtures announced
The television schedule for the fourth round of the FA Cup has been announced, confirming which matches will be shown live on UK television. The FA Cup remains one of the biggest competitions in English football, and broadcasters BBC and ITV once again share the rights to show selected matches live during the fourth round weekend.
The fourth round of the competition takes place between Friday 26 January and Sunday 28 January 2024, with several high-profile matches chosen for live broadcast. In total, six matches were selected for live coverage across the BBC and ITV networks, giving fans a chance to watch some of the biggest ties of the round on free-to-air television.
One of the standout fixtures is the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, which will be broadcast live on ITV1. The match sees two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs facing off in what is expected to be one of the most exciting ties of the round.
Other matches selected for live coverage include Ipswich Town versus Maidstone United on BBC One, Fulham against Newcastle United on ITV4, and Liverpool’s tie against Norwich City or Bristol Rovers on ITV1. Manchester United’s trip to Newport County or Eastleigh will also be shown live on BBC One.
The FA Cup is famous for its giant-killing moments, and the fourth round often produces some of the most memorable matches of the tournament. Lower-league teams that reach this stage not only gain national television exposure but also benefit financially from the broadcast fee, which provides a significant boost for smaller clubs.
For viewers in the UK, these games are available free-to-air on BBC and ITV channels as well as their respective streaming services, BBC iPlayer and ITVX. Viewers outside the UK often look for alternative ways to watch these matches, particularly in Europe where access to UK broadcasters may be limited.
The FA Cup continues to be one of football’s most historic competitions, and with several exciting ties selected for television, the fourth round promises a full weekend of live football for fans to enjoy.
