Rugby World Cup rights stay on ITV until 2023

ITV has won the rights to show the next two Rugby World Cups, with the announcement of a new broadcast rights deal lasting until 2023.

The two event deal announced over the weekend extends ITV’s long partnership with the Rugby World Cup. But the deal also includes this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup, as well as the World Rugby U20 Championship between 2017 and 2019.

The 2015 Rugby World Cup final will be played on the 31 October 2015 at England’s Twickenham Stadium.

BBC Radio has secured the rights to the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The deal means BBC Radio will be the only place to hear radio match commentary in full between 18th September and 31st October.

Coverage starts with the opening match between England v Fiji on Friday 18 September live on BBC Radio 5 live.
