The Costa Azahar Orange Blossom Coast, Spain

Costa Azahar

Known as the Orange Blossom Coast, Costa Del Azahar stretches 112km along the Mediterranean coastline. The Costa del Aazahar or Orange Blossom Coast runs from just south of Valencia to the Moorish town of Oliva and north to near the Ebro Delta.

It is a mainly flattish coastline, with hundreds of kms of the finest beaches in the country, hidden away in coves, or open and majestic, with fine golden sand or smooth shingles, under the shelter of cliffs or open to the coastal plains. With warm water in summer and autumn, and sunny even in winter. European Clean Water Blue Flags wave over many of the beaches of the Costa Azahar and the province of Valencia reflecting the quality of the sea and the beach services: play areas for children, sports facilities for basketball, volley ball, diving platforms.

Along its entire length the land of Valencia is a major attraction for visitors and residents alike, because local beaches are the ideal place for fun and sun, leisure and entertainment, where everyone can enjoy the sea and the weather.

Gandia and Oliva are the most southerly resorts on the Costa del Azahar with over 17km of golden sandy beaches . Gandia is a major city of the area nestling under Mount Monduver. The historic town centre is traffic free and has many narrow roads and quaint passageways but it is also sophisticated with boutique shops. Oliva lies at the heart of Spain ’s orange growing region and on the southern tip of the Costa del Azahar. The long stretch of fine golden sand never gets crowded, even in high season.
